The Inland Classic weekend kicked off with 12 players taking part in a blitz tournament directed by Craig Moore, who donated the prize (an engraved paerweight) for the champion. Drew Bunch won the event with 6.0 score, while Mark Havrilla was second place. Third was shared by Brandon Arensmeyer, Daniel Bowers, and Declan Pham.
John Donaldson presented his annual lecture at 6 pm Friday night and then conducted a 15 board simul, allowing three draws amidst quite a few entertaining games.
